After violently breaking free from her abusive pimp, Kelly leaves her past behind and settles in the quiet town of Grantville, determined to build an honest life. She finds purpose working as a nurse in a children’s hospital and gradually earns the respect of the community. When she falls in love with the town’s most admired citizen, it appears she has finally escaped her troubled past. But Kelly uncovers a shocking truth that exposes the hypocrisy lurking beneath Grantville’s wholesome image, forcing her to choose between protecting herself and revealing a monstrous secret.
What makes The Naked Kiss so important to film noir is its fearless assault on appearances.
