Great Directors – Short Bios
Below are a series of short biographies of great directors. These great directors only come around once a generation or so. Great directors such as John Ford (1895-1973), Alfred Hitchcock (1899-1980), and Orson Welles (1915-1985) will be featured.
A 1996 article in EW lists 50 great directors.1 However, this list is sorely lacking in great female directors.
